At Location World, we have always opted for connected car technology thanks to our intelligent GPS devices to improve driver safety and optimize vehicle fleets.
This trend of connected vehicles is increasingly advanced, and it is estimated that in 2023 there will be 62 million vehicles connected on the roads, according to a recent study by Juniper Reserach.
The connected vehicles, if you do not know, are those capable of emitting and receiving information thanks to the internet, which is a great advance in safety and accident prevention, among other advantages.
According to the study mentioned previously, in 2023 there will be 62 million cars with V2V (vehicle to vehicle) connections, this means an average annual increase of 173% starting from 1.1 million vehicles currently connected.
The great increase in number of connected vehicles will be driven mainly by the future arrival of 5G networks. These networks have low latency and high range, which allows a connection with more speed and capacity.
According to the Juniper Research study, connected cars will be able to prevent more than 9,300 deaths per year, and this is only in the United States. If this figure is reached, one in four deaths due to traffic accidents could be avoided. In this country, more than 60% of new vehicles sold will be connected vehicles in 2023.
"The security benefits of V2V are clear, however; no traditional technology can provide the necessary network conditions on all roads. 5G will be the key technology for facilitating these automotive safety features, however, the long vehicle update rates, generally between 8 and 12 years, will hinder mass adoption, "explains the study.
Location World invites you to join this technology of the future so that your vehicle is always geolocated and connected to the Internet. If you want to know more about the connected car technology that we offer, find out about our CarSync Fleet, CarSync Drive y CarSync Business.
